Quick Response (QR)

QR code was developed by Denso Wave as a scanning symbol and is widely used here in Japan. McDonald's product packaging, bus stops, event dates on posters, contact information on business cards... the practical usage is growing.

A QR code is a 2-D bar code which can hold much more information then the standard bar code. Numeric and alphabetic characters, Kanji, Kana, Hiragana, symbols, binary, and control codes -- up to 7,089 characters can be encoded in one symbol. Read more about QR code here.

QR Code can be extremely convenient in allowing viewers or customers to immediately scan and store information concerning your product/event on their cell phones. No miss spelt domain names, incorrect phone numbers, mis undrestood dates. Watt Media understands the convenience but also sees the possibilities in applying the convenience to design.
